The Easiest Strawberry Spinach Salad.

Yesterday (for Easter) we had the Best Dinner!  I was totally thrilled eating every single bite.

One of the dishes we put together was my Strawberry Spinach Salad.

I get requests for this recipe all the time. So I thought I'd share it here with you.

The Easiest Strawberry Spinach Salad.

6 cups of  Fresh Baby Spinach
1 cup of Sliced Fresh Strawberries

1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 Tbs Sugar

Dressing:
2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbs Honey
1 Tbs Sugar

Wash, cut, and prepare spinach and strawberries.  Mix up in a bowl.
In a small saucepan melt sugar and almonds together, mixing constantly.  Stir and cook until almonds are coated in sugar.  Place on wax paper to cool.  Once cooled add to bowl with spinach and strawberries.

Mix apple cider vinegar, honey, and sugar.  Add to salad just before eating.  Enjoy!

** My Mom makes this recipe all the time because she loves the healthy fresh spinach and simple dressing.  When strawberries are not in season she uses a quick can of mandarin oranges and thinks it's really yummy too.

Happy Easter!

 P.s.-- I made sister's dress.

P.s.s.-- We could not figure out how to tie the bow ties-- and were running late for church-- thus no bow ties. Boo.  I gotta figure 'em out and add Velcro on the back so they'll be a lot easier.

Spiffy.

Yes, I've been a little busy (it's spring break over here) and I've been playing around with the kids while simultaneously trying to get ready for Easter and just the normal Mommy stuff.

But I did manage to get a couple of things sewn this week.

Check these out.

Any guesses as to what they are??

The boys are gonna look spiffy, I tell ya what.

A note on FFF

um...so I decided to do my Freshly Featured Fridays every other week.

Turns out they're a lot of work.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE doing them.

It's really fun to visit my follower's blogs.

But, um....I think every other Friday will suit me better.

Thanks.

Funny Friendship Ecard: I'd appreciate it if once in a while you took time from your busy schedule to call and find out that I am too busy to talk.

The Easy T-Shirt Transformation.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I wanted to share with you all a project I sewed up last year.

The Easy T-Shirt Transformation.

A couple days before I sewed this little dress I was going through my clothes getting a big pile out to give to D.I.-- then I began to look at my clothes differently.  As I gathered them up, suddenly they transformed (in my mind) from clothes to give away into--- Clothes I could resew into dresses for baby.  I got really excited at that possibility.

Here's what I did.

The trickiest part of this little project was getting the neck (that was designed to fit an adult woman) to fit baby.  I cut up the back, sewed the collar together and folded the dress up in a pleat to compensate for the extra material. The below picture kind of shows that.

My last move was to hem the bottom.  Then I was done.

Then take baby and brothers out on the town (after letting brother try the bow on).

Freshly Featured Friday # 4

Today I'll be featuring the blog

I picked her from my list here:

Congrats!
Grab a Freshly Featured Button.

HERE IS MY FAVORITE 5:
1. I always start at the begining.  Heading Straight for the About section. Here you'll read about Julie and how she likes to cook and bake.

Shortly after I was visiting her site and looking around I noted that she hasn't been a blogger too long. But she's got a great following and a great blog put together.

2. I actually first discovered White Lights on Wednesday a couple weeks ago. I found her blog via another linking party when I saw this post on "Getting the Blog Organized"  . Goodness knows I could use some blog organization in my life.

3. After my first visit to Julie's blog I linked up my craft.  I didn't even realize it was her first linking party ever.  The next week I was featured.  Wha-hoo.

This week I was back to link two more of my projects.

4. As I was looking around her site I just had to click on her "Yumminess" button to check out all her recipes.

5. And my last thing I check out was her most popular post.

She has a super yummy looking recipe for knock-off Thin Mints.  Have to try this.

Be sure to visit White Lights on Wednesday. And show some love.

Lemon and Lime

I was contacted a couple weeks ago through the shop, to make these lemon and lime paintings.

They are on 4 x 6 canvases. I love the way they turned out!

Since they're painted in oil they still need several more days to dry before they're sent on their way to their new home.
