The Perfect Scripture Case.

I did it!  I finally released my Perfect Scripture Case pattern for sale on my Etsy shop.

This project has been FOUR (!) years in the making.  I began with my first scripture bag for my son when he turned eight.  Then I tried again with my next son's eighth birthday, this time I wrote down some directions and took a few pictures.  When I made it for the third time for my daughter I decided to take serious notes and turn this into a pattern to sell for others.

At home I playfully referred to this project as, "My Mount Everest of Sewing".  It was very complicated and I was 100% starting from scratch with loose ideas in my head.

I knew exactly what I wanted -- a zipper case, thick with padding and of course, LOTS of pockets. After checking the market I couldn't find anything like what I had envisioned in my head.  So I made my own.

The Perfect Scripture Case is made to fit one regular sized Bible and Book of Mormon, a Bible and a Triple Combination, or a regular sized scripture Quad.

This advanced sewing pattern includes: A fully padded scripture case- using flex-foam, two soft perfect-fit handles, two zippers, three fully lined pockets, and all finished seams!  This part I was very passionate about!  All finished seams!  -- which of course, made this pattern a bit tricky to figure out.

But figure it out, I did!  I hope you have lots of fun sewing your own perfect scripture case.

And because the 4th of July is around the corner.  PS-- I love the fourth of July!  I've added a HUGE coupon.  I almost never offer coupons.

This coupon is for 50% ANYTHING in my shop:

Including my brand new The Perfect Scripture Case.  Please use the code: JULY4.
This offer is good for one month.

Happy Shopping.

All Day Shirt Pattern for Men

A couple months ago I was really thrilled to be collaborating with Liesl from Olive + S again.

This week she is releasing many wonderful button down shirts for women, men, and children, on her site, be sure to check it out.

When I was asked to be a pattern tester for her new Men's button down shirt, the All Day Shirt, I jumped at the chance!  My husband wears this style of shirt literally 6 days a week.

The shirt came out amazing!
It had absolutely every wonderful detail a shirt purchased from a store would have, including a dress collar with collar stays (I made my collar stay from a clear yogurt lid) and options for pockets with button flaps, plus other custom ideas included in the pattern.

This shirt is a size XL and I didn't change or modify the pattern at all.  It fits perfect!

He's an especially big fan of the long sleeves, stores never seem to make them long enough.

How thrilling it was to actually do some sewing for my husband!
Every time he wears this shirt (often) I get so thrilled that I sewed it for him.
All around a great fit and wonderful pattern.
Another home-run, Liesl!

The Swingset Skirt (with More sizes)

Oliver + S has just re-released one of their most popular patterns. The Swingset Skirt!

I was thrilled to be a pattern tester again.  I tested out the size 5 Swingset Skirt. It fit like a charm on my girl.

This beautiful circle skirt is fully lined and has a great potential to be reversible.  Wouldn't that be fun, two skirts for one?  The top of the skirt is so darling with the elastic and the cute bow at the hip.

This darling skirt made for a perfect photo shoot for my newly turned 5 year old birthday girl!

She really loves this twirly skirt and was a little grumpy I made her wait until her birthday for her to officially wear it.

We took some shots around our neighborhood. Everywhere we went she bounced and skipped enjoying how her skirt twirled.

I took her over to our little lake to feed the duckies, planning on getting a lot of cute shots, but unfortunately my battery died, right after these shots.

Lastely, I leave with this darling shot, where little sister decided to jump in, purse monkey and all!

The Sweet Simple Dress-- as completed by my Pattern Testers.

When I designed The Sweet Simple Dress, I tried to make it with lots of options for customization and I encouraged my sweet pattern testers to get creative and to really make the dress their own.

Of course, they did not disappoint.  Every dress was done so excellently.

In no particular order, here they are.

Up first, this darling dress by The Nest Creations , I love how her daughter picked out her own fabrics and styling.  What a cutie!

I love this darling blue and white stripped one from Stripes and Polka Dots

Ahh, matching sisters-- my favorite.  These two cuties are my nieces.
I love the way their matching, darling dresses turned out!

Kerrie made two dresses for some cute little twins.
I love the pocket designs she made.

I love this darling tunic from Made-by-Sara.
She used knit for the bodice and cotton for the sleeves.

Court from Court is Crafty made this darling green dress with cute little buttons on the sleeves.

Check out this cutie from Australia from the blog Sewn by Elizabeth.

These dresses are too cute from Nap-Time Creations.  If you're asking yourself, "Hmm, why did she pick some of those interesting details."  You might be surprised.  You can read all about her inspiration here.
